Terry G. Mahn is the Managing Principal of Fish & Richardson P.C.’s Washington, DC office. Mr. Mahn is the head of the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Group and is a former Chairman of the Compensation Committee. His practice is primarily before the FCC and FDA with emphasis on electronic and medical product authorizations. Mr. Mahn's legal specialty involves domestic and international product standards development, harmonization, and compliance in the areas of EMC, electrical safety, RF emissions, telephony, and RF safety. His FCC practice includes all facets of spectrum allocation, wireless technology authorization, and licensing and equipment approvals. Other areas of practice include intellectual property licensing, standards development, and the representation of test laboratories before U.S. and foreign regulatory authorities. Mr. Mahn is experienced in a wide range of electronic technology licensing and certification issues involving computes and peripherals, ultrawideband, powerline carrier, spread spectrum, satellite and mobile radio transceivers, cable TV and video distribution systems, PBX and telephone technologies, ISM equipment, ultrasound, RF lighting, radio control, cordless telephones, field disturbance sensors, radar and radar detectors, walkie-talkies, and telemetry devices. In addition, he is experienced in a broad range of medical and biomedical telemetry, devices, radiological health technologies and laser products. Mr. Mahn has been an instructor for Patent Resources Group’s “Biotechnology” course each year since 2000. Mr. Mahn has a B.S. (Science Engineering, 1970) from the University of Michigan and a J.D. (1975) from Catholic University.
