David P. Swenson practices as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Department of the Minneapolis office of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, L.L.P. His trial experience includes patent-related matters spanning myriad technologies in district courts around the country, the ITC, FTC, and trial-format arbitrations. Mr. Swenson has also represented clients in over two dozen appeals of patent cases to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where he serves annually as judge for the Giles S. Rich IP Moot Court final rounds.
Mr. Swenson earned his B.A. in Computer Science from Boston College, his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, and his M.A. in Public Affairs from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. He began his legal career clerking for Judge Giles S. Rich and then Judge Pauline Newman at the Federal Circuit.
